It’s in La Salvetat-Peyralès, in the heart of the wild countryside along the Viaur, a tributary of the Aveyron that the Romans called Via Aurea (the road to gold), that Violaine Ulmer, ceramist, and Andreas Grau, jeweller, have chosen to set up their workshops in a former school in the heart of the village.
Just a stone’s throw from Najac, Cordes and Conques, La Salvetat-Peyralès offers a green and peaceful setting that’s ideal for creative work.
The former Sainte-Marie public school, part of the diocese of Rodez, operated until the early 2000s. The premises, which have since been abandoned, were ideally suited to the needs of the workshops: large, light-filled interior spaces and a peaceful setting.
So the adventure began in the spring of 2020 and continues today. We’re working on restoring the rest of the building to create reception and accommodation areas.
This place, dedicated to crafts, will allow you to immerse yourself in the work of clay and metal through the creation of ceramic jewellery.
For our students, we offer on-site accommodation if you’re looking for complete immersion.
To find your way to our tiny village, we have gathered some travel information for you.
